Nepenthes gymnamphora is a widely distributed plant, to which there is attached some disagreement in relation to its taxonomy. Recently, Jebb and Cheek elevated the Sumatran plants of N. gymnamphora to species status, calling them N. pectinata. Accordingly, plants labelled N. gymnamphora have originated from Java. The plants have similar morphology and growth habits, and grow in similar environments and altitudes.

Sumatra, Java

ELEVATION: 600-2800 meters

Generally an easy species to grow, it should be treated as a highland plant. Should be tolerant of open, moist media, as it generally grows terrestrially.

SCALE: 1-5 (1-easy, 5-challenging)
